Truck Carrying Metallica’s Gear Involved in a Huge Freeway Collision

When you’ve got a stage show as big as Metallica’s, you generally need to transport all of your shit long distance through the use of massive semi-trucks. Like most vehicles on the road, there’s a non-zero chance those vehicles will get into an accident once they’re on the road.

Unfortunately for the people involved, that sort of thing happened to at least one of Metallica’s big rigs on their way to Montreal. According to local news reports in upstate New York, the incident occurred while it was traveling north along I-87 near Lake George.

As you can see in the initial imagery, things got pretty gnarly. Multiple vehicles were involved in the crash, which looks like it shut down the roadway, with both the huge equipment carrying truck and a truck transporting cars blocked things up.

Luckily, it sounds like no one got hurt, nor will this affect the band’s ability to perform. You can check out the witness footage below. We’re just thankful no one got seriously hurt.
