Someone’s Making a Toyah and Fripp Movie About Everyone’s Favorite Video Series

Seriously can’t get enough of the covers that Toyah Wilcox and King Crimson‘s Robert Fripp have been putting out for a while now. Clicks, comments, reactions… the whole nine, man. So I bet you guys are practically foaming at the mouth with excitement over that headline.
Apparently, a movie is being made about the couple’s Sunday Lunch series. During a recent interview with eonmusic, Wilcox revealed that a documentary crew had been following her and her husband, though the final product will likely be a fictional take on events.
“We have a documentary crew following us, and we have quite a big production company scripting an idea at the moment. Obviously we won’t be in it. It’s for actors to play, but that’s all in the back kind of pool of what do you call pre-production. All of that’s going on.”
Serving as a creative outlet for the couple during the COVID-19 lockdowns, the Toyah and Robert’s Sunday Lunch series has gained a following over the years. From YouTube subscribers to people actually showing up to live performances by the couple, it’s hard not to recognize how their silly at-home covers might garner the attention of Hollywood folks. After all, when you really boil their story down, the series sounds like the perfect backdrop for a rom-com. Especially once studios get comfortable enough to start making movies set during the pandemic.
