Bleeding Through Release New Version of “On Wings Of Lead”

California metalcore quintet Bleeding Through dropped a special treat while we were all stuffing our faces yesterday in the form of a new version of their track “On Wings Of Lead.”

Originally released on their 2003 This Is Love, This Is Murderous, this new version follows yet another re-done classic single, “Love Lost In A Hail Of Gun Fire” that dropped a couple months ago.

The band have been celebrating the 20th anniversary of This Is Love, This Is Murderous and currently have an upcoming appearance in their hometown at the House of Blues in Anaheim, CA on December 16 where they’ll play the album in full. Supporting acts for that special gig include Unearth, Impending Doom, Lionheart, OV Sulfer, and Salt The Wound.

Formed in 1999, Bleeding Through has gone through some fits and starts in recent years. The band famously called it quits in 2014, before playing a one-off reunion show in 2016. The band eventually got back together to write new material in late 2017, with an official announcement of their reunion in 2018.

According to an interview from around the time the band got back together, vocalist Brandan Schieppati said the band initial break up came because its members wanted to pursue other things in life.

“Bleeding Through stopped in the beginning because we were all approaching our mid-thirties. We wanted to start families and kids. Other career opportunities came up and once you give 15 years to something, it’s hard to do something else because that’s all you know. And we tried and we gave it a legit effort the last couple years of doing Bleeding Through to do it more on a part time basis. And really we found that there were other things during that part time basis, like the people that were still working for the band at the moment, we didn’t feel it was the right team anymore. And we found we still had obligations to Bleeding Through to carry out. Then we wouldn’t be able to advance in other aspects of our personal life, which I think it was important.

“It was really important for us to take a step back and work on our personal lives to accomplish all the things I mentioned.”

As of last year, the band put out their Rage EP and back in April, the band dropped a new single titled “War Time.” We’re still not sure if the band is working on a full-length album to follow up their 2018 album Love Will Kill All or if a full tour is in the band’s future anytime soon, but who knows? With a new year can come new possibilities.
