Corrosion of Conformity Cancel European Tour Due to “Happenings Beyond Our Control”

In an all too common occurrence lately, another American metal band has had to put the kibosh on their European touring plans over unforeseen circumstances. This time, it’s the Southern metal act Corrosion of Conformity and their mid-summer dates across the pond.

In a short statement issued via social media, the band said they regretted having to pull the plug on their plans, but some unavoidable shit is causing the disruption.

“To our fans,

It is with deep regret, and due to happenings beyond our control, that we have to announce the cancellation of our June and July European dates. While we know this is not ideal, we will work with promoters to reschedule dates as soon as possible.

Thanks for understanding, we love you all. See you on the Horizon.

This isn’t the first time an American band had to axe their European touring plans. In recent history, bands like Anthrax, The Agonist, and Flotsam and Jetsam were forced to shut down their plans in that part of the world. Typically, the reason is either logistical or financial in nature, though we admittedly don’t know if Corrosion of Conformity’s particular situation falls into either category.

This year’s supposed to be a big one for Corrosion of Conformity, as they’ve apparently been working on their follow up to 2018’s No Cross No Crown. Songs from the “brutal sounding” album, as guitarist Woody Weatherman once called it, could have gotten aired out and debuted a bit at these European shows. But that’s not meant to be.

The band said they hope to reschedule the missed dates, but until we have confirmed dates, we won’t know more. Still, this is a super bummer for anyone planning on seeing Pepper Keenan and the guys.
