Exclusive: Beaten To Death’s New Single Screams One Thing — “My Hair Will Be Long Until Death”

Norwegian progressive/avant-garde grindcore madmen Beaten To Death are back. Four years after the release of 2020’s Laat maar, ik verhuis naar het bos, they’ve got a new album coming out on May 31 and we’re premiering the first cut off that slate of new tunes. Titled “My Hair Will Be Long Until Death,” it’s nearly 150 seconds of fire and fury with a simple follicle-based exclamation at the center of it all.

Titled Sunrise Over Rigor Mortis, the new album will feature nine new tracks with a new album coming later this year titled Sunrise Over Rigor Mortis and we’re premiering the first single off that slab of sonic pandemonium.

Bassist Mika Martinussen said the meaning of the song hits particularly close to his own experience.

“The first single from the album is ‘My Hair Will Be Long Until Death’ and is presumably about being a True Norwegian Melodic Grindcore bass player with no self-awareness.”

From start to finish, the track is real banger, with a real interesting slow part in the middle breaking things up. It’s a welcome reprieve to all the bash-your-head-in riffage going on.

Sunrise Over Rigor Mortis will be release on May 31 via Mas-Kina Recordings, but you can pre-order your copy today.
