Ex-Fire from the Gods Frontman AJ Channer Arrested for Child Endangerment

0

Good grief. Do y’all remember back in March of last year, when Myke Terry of Volumes (and formerly of Bury Your Dead) randomly popped up as the new vocalist for rap metal band Fire from the Gods? We didn’t know why caused his absence, but new details have come out about what happened then and what’s happening now.

Public arrest records say that Channer was arrested December 19, 2025 in Cleveland, TN on a child endangerment charge. Apparently, he was also arrested in Travis County, TX on May 8, 2024 for allegedly assaulting a pregnant person. Yikes.

All we’ve really gotten on the manner has come from Channer’s partner Brittan Taylor, who attempted to address it all on socials by describing his decision as personal and family-based.

Her statement read:

“I want to say thank you to everyone reaching out to check on Channer AJ. Yes, the news is out, Fire From The Gods has a new vocalist. AJ and I have been through a lot over the past few years, and it was time to take a break and focus on family, which is exactly what he has done. I wish the guys in FFTG all the best and am looking forward to watching them continue to make music with Myke!

“Dealing with our mental health issues, moving to a new state, and having the baby all at the same time… it was time for us to slow things down and focus on family. The last year has shown us how much we can grow and heal together, and I am in awe of how hard AJ has fought to get healthy. I am so unbelievably proud of this man.

“We have our forever because we have each other. Keep fighting the good fight, baby.

“AJ is now working on his solo project CHNNR and will be releasing new music soon, so stay tuned!”

As of time of writing, Fire from the Gods hasn’t addressed anything surrounding Channer, from his departure to his legal issues. For now, Channer himself will release new material under CHNNR, but no release date for any of it has been announced.
