Kiss Frontman Gene Simmons Recovering from Recent Car Crash
Well, that was close. Things could’ve ended differently for Kiss vocalist Gene Simmons earlier this week on Tuesday, October 7, when he was involved in a car crash in Malibu, California. He’s okay, but the situation definitely sounds like it could’ve turned out worse once you hear some of the details.
The accident happened off Pacific Coast Highway just before 1 p.m, when his Lincoln Navigator drifted into a parked car, according to what the Los Angeles Sheriff’s Department told NBC4 Investigates.
Simmons, 76, told deputies and first responders that he passed out somehow, either falling asleep or fainting, which caused him to cross through several lanes of traffic before hitting the parked vehicle. He was later taken to the hospital to get thoroughly checked out. It seems as though no one else was injured.
Shannon Tweed, Simmons’ wife, told NBC4 Investigates that the rock icon is now recovering at home. She also said that Simmons’ doctors had recently changed his medications along will telling him to drink more water, which is apparently something he is NOT happy about. Water isn’t that bad, man.
Simmons left a voicemail with NBC4 Investigates that he’s doing fine, further seeming to downplay the incident in a tweet where he simply referred to the incident as a “slight fender bender.”
“Thanks, everybody, for the kind wishes. I’m completely fine. I had a slight fender bender. It happens. Especially to those of us were horrible drivers. And that’s me. All is well.”
It was definitely more than that, but at least you seem to be okay, dude.
