I GUESS A METAL COVER OF “GANGNAM STYLE” WAS INEVITABLE
This seaon’s “Call Me Maybe” is Korean rapper PSY’s “Gangnam Style,” and so, of course, someone has now made a metal version of the song — specifically Galactic Pegasus, the brilliant mind behind the “How to Get Signed to Rise Records” video. This isn’t as good, mostly because despite the humor inherent in a metal cover of a pop song, there’s really no sense of irony; it starts out as rap metal before it develops a case of breakdown syndrome. But it’s still better than anything Limp Bizkit or Emmure ever made, so there’s that.
