Earlier this year, Misery Signals raised more than $100,000 via Indiegogo to record their first new studio album in five years. But despite this swell of fan support, they are, creatively speaking, but a pimple on the ass of rap metal masters Falling in Reverse, the greatest thing to happen to music since sound. And apparently Misery Signals vocalist Karl Schubach, acknowledging the incredible influence FiR have had him as an artist — nay, as a human being — via Twitter earlier this week:

He later elaborated on the undeniable power of Falling in Reverse’s new album via Instagram:

All kidding aside, what I’d really like to know is: Who in the mother of fuck pays $19.99 for a CD these days? Does it come with a bag of cocaine or something?

In semi-related news, Misery Signals have also posted a snippet of “Reborn: An Execution,” a new song from their aforementioned forthcoming crowdfunded album. It sure sounds to me like they delivered the goods and all the fans who chipped in are gonna be happy that they did, although they may be slightly disappointed that the band didn’t take a cue from their heroes in Falling in Reverse and add rapping to the mix. Misery Signals’ new album, Absent Light, comes out July 23 on Basick.
