Rob Scallon Plays Metal on a Theremin

Halfway between the recent discussion about whether djent ruined metal and the video we posted about playing metal with an ordinary kitchen blender lies Rob Scallon’s latest: “Theremin Metal.”

In  the video, frequent Scallon video star Rick Riffson, CEO of fictional label Super Metal Records, is starting to have doubts about the future of djent and requests Scallon record the least djenty song possible, prompting Scallon to bring back the theremin from a previous video and make another go with it.

The song within, “JekylnHyde,” appears on Scallon’s forthcoming solo album The Scene is Dead. Check out a full track from that album called “Gas Mask Catalogue” here, and pre-order the album on vinyl or CD.
