Ex-Chimaira Drummer Andols Herrick is Sick, Needs Your Help
Ex-Chimaira drummer Andols Herrick has been out of the spotlight for quite a while now. After leaving Chimaira (for the second time) in 2011, word surfaced of an instrumental project he was working on with fellow ex-Chimaira member Rob Arnold, but nothing ever came of that. His current Twitter bio lists him as a “session drummer.” And that’s really all we know about what he’s been up to over the past six years.
But if Chimaira’s music ever touched you in any way, then perhaps you can find it in your heart today to give a few bucks to help Andols out. It seems he’s been facing some very serious medical issues lately that doctors have yet to fix or even diagnose, and while it isn’t clear what problems or symptoms Herrick is experiencing we respect his right to privacy.
Tim Herrick has set up a GoFundMe page to help cover medical expenses and lost wages. Here’s the mission statement:
For about 9 months, Andols has faced some chronic medical issues. After six trips to the ER, numerous specialists (one of which who was stumped and bowed out of his case), surgery, physical therapy, and a host of prescribed and expensive medications with minimal efficacy, there is nothing substantive to show for it.
Meanwhile, this illness has left him unable to work, his medical bills are piling up. and he’s been forced to stay with family as we work to get him well. We are optimistic and prayerful that we will eventually find the answers that will get him back to wellness, but at this point, it’s pretty open-ended.
If Andols’ music touched or improved your life in any way, we hope that you will make a donation of any size to help ease this burden. Thank you in advance, and be assured that any funds will go straight to debt-reduction with the balance into a reserve for future medical expenses.
