Survive Release “Other” Remix by Justin Broadrick (Godflesh, Jesu)

When analogue synth revivalists Survive announced last month they’d be releasing a remix EP including a cut by Justin Broadrick (Godflesh, Jesu), among others, our immediate reaction was, “cool, now give us the Broadrick!”

Today we get to hear Broadrick’s treatment (operating here as JK Flesh) of Survive’s track “Other,” from their 2016 release RR7349, and it’s a perfect example of how cool remixes can be when done right. The original version of “Other” is quite a chill number, and Broadrick’s reimagining maintains that vibe while bringing in a heavier, visceral, more intense element. It’s pretty rad, and I’ll embed both the original and Broadrick’s remix below so you can compare and contrast.

RR7387 comes out November 3rd via Relapse Records; pre-order here. Check out Lena Willikens’ remix of “Cutthroat” from the EP as well.
