Video: Black Sabbath’s Bill Ward Reads a Solemn Poem for Vinnie Paul

Pantera drummer and metal icon Vinnie Paul Abbot was buried on Saturday, June 30th, and a public memorial was held for him the next day. At that memorial, several other metal musicians paid homage to Abbot.

Among them was Bill Ward, founding drummer of Black Sabbath, whose condolences and grief are, one imagines, the greatest honor any metal drummer could receive upon passing. Below you’ll find a video of Ward reading the poem he wrote for Vinnie.

Our hearts go out to Vinnie Paul’s friends and loved ones. RIP.
