Megadeth’s inaugural Megacruise is currently on track (on sea?) to be the most destructive boat ride since the Titantic*. As of this past October, they already had a rad line-up announced, including not only the cruise’s namesake but also acts like Anthrax, Testament, Corrosion of Conformity, Armored Saint, DevilDriver, and John 5. But now they’ve added another five killer bands to the bill, which includes not only legends like Suicidal Tendencies and Death Angel, but a much-needed dose of youth in the form of Toothgrinder.

Here’s the full line-up as it currently stands (newly announced bands in bold):

Megadeth
Anthrax
Testament
Corrosion of Conformity
DevilDriver
Metal Church
Doro
John 5
Armored Saint
Beasto Blanco
Metalachi
Suicidal Tendencies
Queensrÿche
Death Angel
Sacred Reich
Toothgrinder

In addition to all those bands, the cruise is set to feature a plethora of what Vince rightfully described as “way over-the-top Megadeth-themed everything,” including a poker tournament with members of the band, clinics by the same, a Megadeth-themed trivia night, and an auction featuring Megadeth memorabilia and used gear.

But wait! There’s more! They’ve also confirmed the booking of a Megadeth cover band, MecaniX. Mustaine previously said he was hoping to get just such an act so fans could perform Megadeth karaoke. It’s not clear if that’s what MecaniX will be doing, although a statement from Megadeth does promise something special:

“Joining us all the way from Montreal will be MecaniX – Tribute To Megadeth. Not only will they be performing, but they will be part of an amazing event created by the Captain, Dave Mustaine!

“One lucky cruiser will join Megadeth on stage during the cruise. This will be an unbelievable contest – details coming soon.”

Will that cruiser be singing with the band? And, if so, what happens when he or she almost inevitably turns out to be a better singer than Dave Mustaine? Only time will tell!

The Megacruise will run from October 13th through 18th of 2019, stopping at Los Angeles, San Diego, and Ensenada, Mexico. Tickets start at $1,085 per person and run up to $5184 per person for special VIP packages. Tickets are available here.
