Alter Bridge Unveil Video for “Native Son,” Announce Walk the Sky 2.0 EP

In lieu of the slate of touring they’d had lined up for 2020 before the you-know-what came and ended life as we knew it, Alter Bridge have combed through live versions of songs from their most recent album, Walk the Sky, recorded before shit hit the fan. They’ll be releasing the best of those on the appropriately titled Walk the Sky 2.0, which will arrive in November with a brand new track, “Last Rites,” written, recorded and completed entirely during the Covid-19 lockdown.

You’re gonna have to wait to hear that brand new track, but for now Alter Bridge are whetting our appetites with a new video “Native Son” from the original Walk the Sky 1.0 (a live version of which is included on 2.0 — but the video is for the original studio version).

A press release elaborates on the subject nature of the video, which was created by Stefano Bartelli:

“The video – an animated short created completely using stop-animation techniques and incorporating origami to create a unique visual effect – starts by following a dark figure set in a prairie farmland setting. The viewer finds the character struggling to survive as that backdrop then morphs and gives way to industrialization and a city overtaking the original landscape. The visuals echo the lyrical sentiment of: “I’m a native son in a foreign land. I’m just living in a world I can’t understand.”

Walk The Sky 2.0 comes out on November 6 and can be pre-ordered in a number of different configurations here: https://smarturl.it/WalkTheSky2.0.
