Today saw the release of some rad new music, like the new Andrew W.K. song, and the new Nine Inch Nails/Health song, and the new Nonpoint song, and the new-old August Burns Red song with Misha Mansoor from Periphery.

It also saw the release of a new single from Ov Sulfur, the band featuring former Suffokate frontman Ricky Hoover and whatever remains of Ricky Hoover’s earlobes.

The track is called “Bathe in the Flame,” and it sounds like Frankie Palmeri just got into Dimmu Borgir. So at least it’s closer to the “blackened death metal” sound the band initially promised than their debut single, “Behind the Hand of God.”

In fact, guitarist Chase Wilson says as much himself:

“This song is definitely more blackened than ‘Behind the Hand of God.’ We went from planning to be a tech death band to blackened deathcore, so we figured out our sound as we went. It’s a pretty huge leap between the two. Our other guitarist Cory Walker also took over the orchestral elements from here moving forward and crushed a killer solo, to boot.”

Adds Hoover:

“Bathing in the flame could be taken literally, like you’re burning in hell. But it’s more a metaphor for finding comfort in embracing your humanity, which is often broken and bad—if not downright evil. It’s in our nature to live in the grey.”

You can listen below. Still dunno when these fellas will bless us with a full album.
