Better Lovers’ New Single “Two Alive Amongst The Dead” Out Now

We’ve heard Better Lovers do their take on The Dillinger Escape Plan, but what happens when the band taps into the other side of the equation and writes their take on an Every Time I Die tune? You get their latest single “Two Alive Amongst The Dead,” which just became available to streaming for the general public earlier today.

Dropped as a standalone single, “Two Alive Amongst The Dead” is seemingly being positioned by the band as an exclamation point to the year that saw current and former members of Every Time I Die, Fit For An Autopsy, and The Dillinger Escape Plan come together to form a new group.

The track had previously premiered on Sirius XM’s Liquid Metal yesterday, with DJs opting to play it at a regular hourly interval. The song had originally been slated to make its way to the general public tomorrow, but I guess the band got impatient and decided to release it now.

While it’s definitely in that ETID vein, I personally think the new track is missing that bite or that dangerous feeling that the previous two singles had. It’s still a reasonable track by any stretch of the imagination, I just think “30 Under 13” is a better experience.

Since their announcement back in April, Better Lovers has released a couple singles, dropped a surprise EP titled God Made Me An Animal, and gone on tour in the U.K. and parts of the U.S. They’ve even got a special holiday show dubbed “BLismass” that’s going to take place in Buffalo, New York with opening acts It Dies Today, The Callous Daoboys, Greyhaven, and Spaced.

Whether you like or dislike the new song, it’s certain that Better Lovers aren’t going anywhere as we head to 2024.
