Slipknot to Release Look Outside Your Window Next Year For Real This Time, Will Play Self-Titled Album on Tour

0

It’s almost been a full calendar year since he last made this promise, but Slipknot‘s Shawn “Clown” Crahan is once again making a promise that the long awaited, borderline mythical album Look Outside Your Window will be released next year.

For those that don’t know, the album was recorded during the 2008 All Hope Is Gone sessions but it’s really more like a Slipknot side project, as it features Clown and other Slipknot members Corey Taylor, Jim Root, and DJ Dam Wilson. It was originally supposed to drop on Christmas Day 2019, but that obviously never happened. Fans have been wondering about the record ever since.

This new promise came about during a chat with NME‘s Liberty Dunworth, where Crahan said the album was definitely, for sure coming sometime in 2024.

“It’s definitely arriving next year. You have my word. The art’s been done. It’s been mixed. It’s been mastered. It is definitely coming out in 2024 and it’s such a great album. Corey [Taylor] is my favourite singer ever, and you’ll never hear him sing in the same way as on this album, so it’s been worth holding it back. It’s such a different, timeless project.”

In addition to the news about Look Outside Your Window, Clown also said Slipknot has plans for a new album sometime, but that live commitments are going to take priority in 2024.

And speaking of touring, it’s been previously reported that the band will embark on a U.K./European Tour next year to celebrate the 25th anniversary of their self-titled album. Looking forward to that run of dates, which you can find below, Clown effectively confirmed that they’ll play their 1999 album in full.

“Nobody knows truly what’s happening. If I were a fan, I would [ask], ‘Why wouldn’t the band play the album in its entirety?’ and ‘Why wouldn’t the band play some special events that seem intimate and fun?’ I’d put money on it – I want to come full circle and get back to when the dream was only a dream. I can’t promise you anything until it’s happening though.”

And all of that was said without any news of who’s going to replace recently ousted drummer Jay Weinberg. That’s still up in the air but with live dates coming up soon, we’ll surely know more… Right?!
