Check Out This Metal Cover of “This is Halloween” by Members of Singularity and Animus Complex

“This is Halloween,” penned by composer Danny Elfman for The Nightmare Before Christmas, is a classic as old as time. Errr… 23 years old, to be exact.

But now Matt Turkington of Animus Complex and Jack Flieger of Singularity, both of whom we’ve covered on this site before, have teamed up for a metal cover of the track just in time for the holiday after which it’s named. And it slays, unsurprising given the dudes behind it. I love Fliegler’s metallification of the song’s instrumentation, and Turkington does a fantastic job layering harmonies and giving the track some growled, death metal flair.

Marilyn Manson covered this track years ago, too, so we’ve included that as well as the original below, for reference.
