Listen to the Brand New At the Drive-In Track “Governed by Contagions” Right Now!

Am I the only one who spaced on the fact that At the Drive-In have been working on a new album? I was paying close attention to their reunion shows a few of years back, but I always figured they’d just stick to touring, seeing as how massively lucrative those shows were.

But nope! Turns out ATDI will be going the Faith No More route — not the Rage Against the Machine route — and they’ll be releasing an entirely new record in 2017. And it’s a good thing, too: in 2017 we’ll need ATDI’s pointed take on society more than fucking ever. It’ll be their first release since 2000’s genre-bending, revolutionary Relationship of Command.

Today we get a brand new song from that album called “Governed by Contagions.” The track is available for free download at the band’s official website, or you can watch the lyric video below. They haven’t revealed the name of the album — it may also be called Governed by Contagions, possibly? — which was produced by the band’s own Omar Rodriguez-Lopez together with Rich Costey (Muse, etc.).

First-listen take? As a long-time fan of this band I absolutely love it. Stoked to hear more of where this came from! Listen and sound off below.

ALSO: make-up dates have been announced for the shows ATDI were forced to cancel earlier this year due to a problem with Cedric Bixler-Zavala’s vocals cords. Find those at those bottom of this post.
