Hear Mastodon’s New Song, “Rufus Lives,” from Bill & Ted Face the Music

0

With the release of Bill & Ted Face the Music today (read Axl’s official review here!) comes the most bodacious soundtrack, and with that soundtrack comes some most excellent new music from a number of acts. First up: Mastodon!

The new song, “Rufus Lives,” takes its name, of course, from the late George Carlin’s character in the first two Bill & Ted entries. And a more fitting tribute to the legendary comedian there could not be: the track is propelled by a monstrously burly riff in the verse and a hard-hitting refrain in which Troy Sanders belts “We’ve gotta get outta here!” and it’s one of the fastest and heaviest Mastodon tunes in recent memory. Big time guitar solo energy vibes from Brent Hinds, too!

Jam it below! The band released a new song called “Fallen Torches” earlier this summer and are in the process of writing their next album.
