Khemmis Announce New Album, Stream First Single

I know what album we’ll all be using to drown out our awful families this Thanksgiving: Deceiver, the just-announced fourth full-length from the mighty Khemmis!

Khemmis are easily one of the best metal bands out there right now, and Deceiver‘s first single, “Living Pyre,” suggests their winning streak ain’t about to let up. At its best, Khemmis’ music is a unique mix of invitingly-warm trad metal and desperately-dismal doom, and “Living Pyre” is definitely that. This song would probably be pretty depressing if it weren’t so goddamn good.

Listen to “Living Pyre” below!

The track listing for Deceiver is below. The album was produced by Dave Otero (Cattle Decapitation, Cephalic Carnage, Cobalt, bands whose names don’t begin with the letter ‘c’).

  1. “Avernal Gate”
  2. “House of Cadmus”
  3. “Living Pyre”
  4. “Shroud of Lethe”
  5. “Obsidian Crown”
  6. “The Astral Road”

Also worth noting: as evidenced by their new promo photo (above), =the band is not replacing bassist Dan Beiers for the time being. I assume that will change when they go on tour.
