Corey Taylor: “Massive” Slipknot News Coming “in the Next Month or So”

Corey Taylor, the man who acts as irrefutable proof that there is a God in Heaven above, has sexually aroused the metal world by teasing “massive” Slipknot news — which he says will arrive sooner rather than later.

Speaking to Kerrang! Radio, Number 8 said:

“Slipknot is booked to tour America end of September. We are booked to go out. And we haven’t heard anything yet that it’s different. And we talk to [concert promoter] Live Nation every week. We’re up to date on all of the different restrictions, not only in the [various U.S.] states, but federally. We’re, obviously, keeping an eye on everything and kind of going from there. Other than that, right now, there’s some stuff brewing that I can’t talk about, but it’s massive. I can say this: you will hear about it probably in the next month or so, let’s put it that way.”

We have no clue what this “massive” news could be… but obviously every Maggot in the galaxy is keeping their fingers crossed for new music. Which isn’t so far-fetched, for the following reasons:

  • In January of 2020, percussionist Shawn “Clown” Crahan said that Look Outside Your Window, the album Corey Taylor, Shawn “Clown” Crahan, Jim Root, and Sid Wilson recorded during sessions for 2008’s All Hope is Gone, would be released “this album cycle.” Taylor has previously said that the eleven-track record has “a Radiohead vibe.”
  • This past November, Clown revealed that the band was working on new music. Shortly thereafter, Taylor said that “we’re thinking about kind of putting another album out maybe next year.” Then, in December, drummer Jay Weinberg told an interviewer that he “can’t talk about [new music],” which at least kinda suggests there’s new music about which to talk.

Of course, it’s also possible that the “massive” news isn’t about new music… but then I have no guesses what could warrant the use of that enticing adjective. Free immediate coronavirus vaccines for all Slipknot fans? Joey Jordison returning as their new percussionist? A coffee table book of Corey nude photos?

You can check out the entire interview with Corey below. Then head to the comments section to speculate as to what Slipknot will announce sometime in the not-too-distant future.
