Video: Kid Rages on Dad’s Shoulders at the Center of a Slipknot Circle Pit
People are always surprised at how much metalheads love kids, the same way they’re always tickled by how much we love cats. But metal is inherently juvenile in a lot of ways, and the younger years during which we discovered this music will always remain fresh in our hearts. So it’s awesome, if unsurprising, to see this video of a kid sitting on his dad’s shoulders in the middle of a Slipknot circle pit — and watch the metalheads around him protecting him, and throwing him the occasional pair of horns.
As reported by our friends at The Pit, this awesome moment went down during “The Heretic Anthem” at Slipknot’s stop in Minneapolis on the last leg of their Knotfest Roadshow tour. It’s a little scary to see a kid surrounded by so many people going nuts — but the respect they give the young fan, and the way so many dudes protect his dad, really speaks to how metalheads want to make sure everyone has a rad time. We fucking love this, honestly.
