The latest entry in the “Bedroom Covers” series curated by Two Minutes to Late Night host Gwarsenio Hall (né Jordan Olds) is also the thirty-fucking-fourth entry in that series. Because that’s how long this pandemic has been going on.

Sigh.

ANYWAY, this time out Gwarsenio recruited some very talented friends to record a characteristically beefy and entertaining cover of Anthrax’s “Caught in a Mosh.” Said friends include:

  • Erlend Hjelvik (Hjelvik, ex-Kvelertak) – vocals
  • Dave Davidson (Revocation, Gargoyl) – guitar
  • Mark Holcomb (Periphery, Haunted Shores) – guitar
  • Aaron Patrick (All That Remains, Bury Your Dead) – bass
  • Daniel Wilding (Carcass) – drums
  • Dwid Hellion (Integrity) – vocals
  • Shawna Potter (War on Women, Panamama) – vocals
  • Jordan Olds a.k.a. “Gwarsenio Hall” – vocals
  • Mary Houlihan as “Valerie Carcrash”

As is almost always the case with the “Bedroom Covers,” they’ve taken some most excellent measures to make the song their own; there’s a short black metal section now, for example, and Davidson basically ditches the first half of Dan Spitz’s guitar solo in favor of simply being his awesome self.

The video is a hoot, too, of course. Highlights include Houlihan’s spot-on riff on old school MTV VJ Downtown Julie Brown, Potter’s choice of location from which to film her portion of the video, and Hjelvik’s adorable Pomeranian.

You can check out the cover below. Here are some previous entries in the “Bedroom Covers” series in case you haven’t seen/heard ’em yet:
